Each April, National Donate Life Month recognizes the individuals and families who have made organ, eye, and tissue donation possible, and the lives saved or improved as a result of their decision.
This year's theme centers on trees as a symbol of life and connection. Donation brings people together across time and place: donors, recipients, and loved ones connected by a single, lasting decision. Like a tree that continues to grow, a donor's legacy lives on through the lives they help.
As we celebrate National Donate Life Month, we'd like to recognize our clients who continue the important work of educating and engaging communities about organ and tissue donation.
Our very own, Elisse Glennon, will be emceeing the DonorConnect Foundation's launch and hosting the Heart of the West Gala, an elevated western-style evening that brings the community together in support of organ and tissue donation.
One gift can spark a moment! In 2017, Elisse's husband Brian became an altruistic living kidney donor, starting the longest single-hospital donation chain in history. Join Brian as he speaks on the incredible power of donation.
"And that is how change happens. One gesture. One person. One moment at a time." — Libba Bray
What began as a career in health and human services took on a new meaning in 2010 with an introduction to an organization that saves lives through organ and tissue donation. That moment marked the start of our connection to the organ and tissue donation and transplantation community.
Our work became a passion shaped by the people, stories, and impact of this community. We continue to be inspired by the commitment and compassion we see every day.
During Donate Life Month, we are honored to continue supporting the donation and transplantation community and working alongside our clients in advancing this mission. To register to become an organ donor, visit registerme.org.
